Some 73 years ago the DuPont Corporation introduced Teflon to the American marketplace, changing the face of the contemporary American kitchen. Teflon contains the highly toxic chemical C8, which impacts everything from the liver to one’s hormones to one’s lipid metabolism. The Devil We Know is a documentary by Stephanie Soechtig and Jeremy Seifert which examines the conspiratorial actions of the DuPont Corporation, and the terrifying fact that C8 is found in the bloodstream of more than 98% of Americans.

WOUB’s Emily Votaw spoke with Harry Dietzler, an attorney who has been involved with the litigation concerning the conspiratorial actions of the DuPont Corporation since 2001 about the many awful ways that C8 has impacted the Parkersburg, West Virginia area, his work alongside many others to bring large American corporations to justice, and the intimate, person-based scope of the documentary.
