With a backdrop of an Ohio late spring rain, musician Michael Nau, formerly of Page France and Cotton Jones, drew a faithful audience when he played at the Gladden House on day two of the 2018 Nelsonville Music Festival. With his trademark vocals and captivating guitar melodies, Nau delivered a set of fan favorites and opened the morning with songs and stories that were tailor-made for the moment.

Before playing, Nau talked with Gladden House host Josh Antonuccio about his album Michael Nau and the Mighty Thread, which is being released this August. He discussed the process of recording it live and the logistics of working in a one-bedroom apartment in Burlington, Vermont. Nau also talked about his upcoming tour in the fall after a small break from the road during the summer months.

After “Funny Wind,” from his upcoming album Michael Nau and the Mighty Thread, he played “Wonder,” a song from his 2017 album Some Twist (Suicide Squeeze records). He joked about keeping his set fresh, seeing as how he was playing on three stages throughout the festival. He finished his performance at the Gladden House with “A Wooden Door.”
