OU Welcomes NPR’s Bob Boilen, Tank and the Bangas April 12

NPR’s Bob Boilen will visit Ohio University on Friday, April 12 for the Scripps Visiting Artist series as a product of a partnership between the Ohio University Scripps College of Communication, the School of Media Arts & Studies, the Ohio University Performing Arts & Concert Series, the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, WOUB Public Media, and Arts for OHIO.

10:30 a.m. to noon, Boilen will be interviewed by School of Media Arts and Studies Lecturer Josh Antonuccio. They will be joined by members of New Orleans-based musical group Tank and the Bangas. The event will be live-streamed at mediaschool.ohio.edu. In the afternoon, Boilen will moderate a discussion on music journalism. That evening, Boilen will host a performance at Stuart’s Opera House by Tank and the Bangas starting at 8 p.m.

General admission tickets are available through stuartsoperahouse.org. Admission for Ohio University students is free with a valid student ID, contingent on availability. Student tickets can be obtained in advance by e-mailing mediaschool@ohio.edu. Bus service from the Ohio University campus to Stuart’s Opera House will be made available for OHIO students on the night of the show. Bus pickup will be in front of Schoonover Center at 7 p.m. and will return to Schoonover Center for drop off after the performance.
