CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – An investigation into a stolen property ring in West Virginia has resulted in charges against 14 people.

The Kanawha County sheriff’s office announced the arrests in a Monday news release. State police, sheriff’s offices in Putnam and Jackson counties, and a U.S. marshal service task force assisted in the warrant sweep.

The statement says two of the suspects were already jailed on other charges, and Sheriff Mike Rutherford says additional arrests are anticipated.

Rutherford says all-terrain vehicles, a recreational vehicle and tools were among $250,000 in items recovered. He says authorities are working to get the stolen property back to its owners.

The statement says anonymous tips and neighborhood watch groups assisted authorities in the investigation. Among the 72 counts are burglary, breaking and entering, and receiving stolen property.
