Arts West Takes Part in Devil’s Kettle Bingo Night
< < Back toATHENS — Ohio Brew Week is not only a week for drinking beer, visiting Court Street bars, and then staying at those bars until “Closing Time” by Semisonic comes on the speakers; it’s also a week for Athens organizations to get more recognition for their programs.
Arts West is one organization seeking donations and on Wednesday, they set up shop in Devil’s Kettle Brewery to take part in their third annual Bingo Benefit Night event.
This is the first year Arts West has been involved with this event.
“It’s a really special opportunity because not only is it just about the monetary support we receive through the sales of bingo cards, or donations or what have you, it’s also an opportunity for Arts West to make connections with new patrons in a really festive environment,” said Arts West Program Specialist Emily Beveridge. “One where people are feeling good and may just want to hear about our organization and what we’ve done or how to become a member.”
To play bingo, one card costs $4 and if you win, you get to pick a prize from the Devil’s Kettle winner box. Some of the prizes included Devil’s Kettle glasses.
Arts West raised more than $200 at the two hour event.
Beveridge is appreciative of Devil’s Kettle collaboration with Arts West.
She said the event is very important and constructive for her organization to grow and improve.
“We’ve had just a lovely history of working with Devil’s Kettle,” said Beveridge.
Devil’s Kettle is keeping a connection with Arts West after Brew Week as well.
They are planning to have another event to bring in donations called “Pints with a Purpose” in September at the red-and-black brewery.
That event is focusing donations towards Arts West’s Southeastern Ohio Musical Lending Library.
