POMEROY, Ohio – The expectations are pretty high for Meigs in 2019 under first year head coach David Tennant. The Marauders return the TVC-Ohio’s leading passer, sophomore Coulter Cleland.

The Marauders were tasked with facing Gallia Academy. The Blue Devils finished 2018 with a 9-2 overall record, including a victory over Meigs in week one of that season, 47-34.

After a weather delay of over an hour, Meigs and Gallia Academy took the field for the first time in 2019. The Marauders struggled on offense and were called for several penalties, while Gallia Academy provided enough offense to leave Pomeroy with a 24-0 win.

In the second half, the Blue Devils added a touchdown after a long drive started by a forced turnover. Gallia Academy led 17-0 after three quarters.

The Blue Devils added one more touchdown with 5:52 left in the game after another forced turnover.

Next week, Meigs will travel to Rock Hill, while Gallia Academy will travel to face another TVC-Ohio team, River Valley.
