Only two teams remain without a loss in the TVC-Ohio, and on Friday night only one can come out victorious. This week’s Gridiron Glory Game of the Week will be a battle between the last two undefeated teams standing in the conference.

This Friday, the Athens Bulldogs travel to Wellston to take on the Golden Rockets. Both teams are coming off big wins last week, with both wins coming in conference play.

After their win on Friday, Wellston advances to 6-1 overall and an undefeated 3-0 conference record. The Golden Rockets dominated Nelsonville-York last week, with a final score of 36-7. Wellston traveled to Nelsonville last Friday and showed no mercy to their TVC-Ohio foe. Running back Rylan Molihan ran for 257 yards on the ground combining for two touchdowns. However, the story of the game was the Golden Rockets defense. They held the Buckeyes to just 256 total yards on the game and only 7 points. This being the first points scored on them so far this season in conference play.

Athens laid down the law last week at their place, with a big win over Meigs last Friday, 60-24. The Athens offense has been putting up big numbers all season. The Bulldogs lead the league in offensive points with a breathtaking 214 total points through their first seven games. Athens put up 519 total yards against Meigs, and a majority of those yards came from sophomore quarterback Joey Moore. Moore finished the game with a combined 298 yards and 3 touchdowns. Moore’s two way attack of passing and rushing compliments the Bulldogs dangerous offense very well.

It will be a very competitive game as the top two offenses in the conference look to hash it out. The Bulldogs will play through Moore’s run and gun style while the Golden Rockets will rely on another monster ground and pound performance from Rylan Molihan.

Mike Smith looks to continue building his legacy at Wellston this Friday, and take another step closer to clinching the conference championship. The high stakes TVC-Ohio matchup is sure to be exciting as the Bulldogs lethal offense looks to over power the Golden Rockets gruesome defense.
