NPR’s Book Concierge is back for its 7th year with a new collection of 350+ books handpicked by NPR staff and trusted critics. This year, for the first time, users will be able to explore seven years of Concierge recommendations all in one place – that’s more than 2,000 titles to kick off a new decade filled with great reads.

Closer view of NPR book covers 2019This year’s Book Concierge features recommendations from more than 100 contributors, including All Things Considered hosts Ari Shapiro, Mary Louise Kelly, and Michel Martin; Morning Edition’s Noel King and Weekend Edition’s Lulu Garcia-Navarro; legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg; Fresh Air book critic Maureen Corrigan; podcast hosts Sam Sanders from It’s Been A Minute, Scott Detrow from The NPR Politics Podcast, and Peter Sagal from Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!; NPR Music’s critic Ann Powers; TV critic Eric Deggans, and many more.

Back in 2013, the Book Concierge was introduced by NPR Books and NPR Visuals to revamp the traditional “best of the year” list with a new dynamic format for every screen.

“We are so excited to bring back the Book Concierge for its seventh year,” says Ellen Silva, senior supervising editor of NPR’s arts desk. “For the first time, the interactive guide will compile all of the previous lists, so users can mix and match various filters on over 2,000 books to find the perfect page-turner to suit their tastes. You’ll be able to search by specific genres, or click on categories such as ‘Seriously Great Writing,’ ‘Ladies First,’ ‘Book Club Ideas,’ and ‘Eye-Opening Reads.'”
