Brady Dorton, 24, accused of burglary

According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, Brady Dorton, age 24, broke into Lucky’s Pizza in Albany on December 31, and the Red Man Lodge in Athens a week later.

The surveillance video from the Albany burglary showed the suspect wearing a mask. The video from the lodge burglary on January 6 showed the suspect driving a red Monte Carlo.

On Saturday, January 11, deputies investigating a 911 call in Albany noticed a red Monte Carlo on Depot Street. According to the sheriff’s office, “After clearing the [911] call, both deputies returned to the location of the vehicle and determined it was a match.”

Dorton reportedly gave the deputies permission to search the Monte Carlo and that’s where they say they found the mask used in the Lucky’s Pizza burglary, items taken from the Red Men Lodge, and tools used in both crimes.

Dorton is now in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail facing two burglary charges – which amounts to a felony of the second degree. He may face additional charges as he is on parole from a previous burglary conviction.
