Even in the age of internet connectivity, Instagram promotion and Bandcamp streaming, geography continues to be of the most important influences when it comes to music. Local scenes foster relationships and creativity, inspiring active musicians to improve and would-be-artists to give this whole music thing a shot. The Athens Sound takes a look at just what kind of community Athens, Ohio has to offer. The different sounds, faces, and stories that are known only to those within a certain radius come to light through conversations with bands, venues and more.
