Alexander Local School District Cancels Classes Through March 29 as a Coronavirus Precaution

ALBANY, Ohio (WOUB) — Alexander Local Schools will be closed to students from March 16-March 29 in response to three confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ohio.
According to a release from the district, says the decision was made after a meeting yesterday with local superintenents and the Athens City-County Health Department.
All 12-month employees are to report for work, while 9- and 10-month employees will report to work on March 23.
Students will make up 3 days at the end of the school calendar making the last day of school June 2nd.
The district will continue to run the bus for all Tri-County students during the next two weeks unless Tri-County chooses to close.
All sporting and extra-curricular activities and practices are cancelled.
All facilities are closed to the public until March 30th, with exception to the school board meeting and voting for election day, next Tuesday.
