‘Bulk Amounts Of Suspected Heroin’ Found In The Plains

THE PLAINS, Ohio (WOUB) — The Athens County Sheriff’s Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) is reporting the second drug bust within four days.

This one was on Roy Avenue in The Plains on July 28.

Investigators executing a search warrant found bulk amounts of suspected heroin along with “suspected methamphetamine related drug paraphernalia,” according to a press release.

Deputies also seized digital scales, a loaded handgun and $495 in cash.

Chaz Jones, 28, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs, and having weapons under disability.

Authorities say additional charges are expected pending lab results
