GRANVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) Granville (3-0) were confident for a victory heading into last night’s home game vs. Eastmoor Academy (1-2). With a pretty even start for both teams in the first quarter, Granville continued to bring the heat with the final score leaving them towering over Eastmoor, (54-18).

Both teams ended the first quarter tied at (6-6), but it didn’t take long before Granville found their groove in the second quarter as Devon Haley scored two touchdowns back-to-back. As both teams went into the locker room for halftime, Granville was still out ahead over Eastmoor (27-6).

As confidence for a huge victory was in the air already for Granville, it is safe to say that they did not underestimate what Eastmoor could do in the second half. For a brief moment in last night’s match, there was a point in the third quarter where a comeback for Eastmoor was seeming more likely. Eastmoor cornerback Isaiah Pressley silenced the home fans when he ran an impressive kick return all the way back to Granville’s endzone.

The momentum was now sitting with the away squad and their fans as running back Zyreek Brunner scored another touchdown for Eastmoor only minutes later making the score (27-18). It was evident that Granville was shaken up a bit but continued to play with confidence. Granville’s defense kept Eastmoor with only a score of 18 for the rest of the game as their offense would go on to score four more touchdowns.

The biggest asset for Granville’s victory last night was undoubtedly running back Devon Haley. He was absolutely on fire scoring four touchdowns for the Blue Aces. Haley’s power and speed made him unstoppable against Eastmoor’s defense. The chemistry between Haley and quarterback Carson Crouch is something special as Crouch also scored two touchdowns himself.

Granville takes on Heath next Friday night with much anticipation building as both teams are 3-0. Granville is in high hopes to stay undefeated.
