POMEROY, Ohio (WOUB) – Friday night, the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes traveled to take on the Meigs Crusaders.

The game started out as a defensive struggle as both teams failed to score in the first quarter.

It was looking as it might go scoreless into the half but with 4 minutes left in the second the Buckeyes Drew Carter was able to find Leighton Loge to give them a 6-0 lead at halftime.

To start the third quarter Nelsonville-York methodically worked it down the field and to cap off their drive Drew Carter ran it in to give the Buckeyes a 13-0 lead.

After turning it over on downs in the red zone it looked like the game was slipping away from Meigs. But the Crusaders were able to force a fumble and Jake McElroy recovered it and took it back for a touchdown to make it a 13-6 game.
