CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WOUB) — The 4th seeded Vinton County Vikings travelled to Southeastern High School to take on the 5th Seeded Jackson Iron Ladies in the southeast 1 district semifinal.
The game started off slow to begin the first quarter. Tegan Bartoe kicked off the scoring nailing back-to-back 3-pointers. Mattie Walburn scored all of Jackson’s 6 points to end the quarter 9-6.
The game changed in the second quarter as Vinton County’s offense exploded with a 3-point barrage, startling Jackson’s defense. The Iron Ladies offense simply could not match the Vikings, scoring only 8 points ending the quarter 28-14.
Jackson fired up their offense to kick off the third quarter, scoring easy points in the paint. However, Vinton County was able to keep pace. Cameron Zinn powered the Vikings offense, dishing out multiple assists to teammates to seal open threes. Jackson’s offense ran off TJ Carpenter scoring 10 of the teams 16 in the quarter.
The fourth quarter began with the Vikings maintaining their fiery offense, tiring Jackson out. The Iron Ladies attempted scoring runs were abruptly stopped with Vinton County continuing to drain three pointers.

Tegan Bartoe led the team with 17 points and 4 rebounds, with Cameron Zinn not too far behind with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists while going 7 for 7 from the line.
