It was senior day at Bob Wren as the Bobcats (29-22)  looked to honor their seniors while working up momentum for the MAC tournament as they played host to the Western Michigan Broncos (18-36).

Ohio would not have momentum early however.

The Broncos scored two quick runs in the first inning and loaded the bases with no outs in the second.

However, Bobcat’s pitcher Brenden Roder stepped up and did not allow any runs in the inning getting a strike out and a double play to get out of the jam, giving the Bobcats momentum.

Ohio would capitalize by scoring six runs in the bottom of the fourth, all with two outs, to go up 8-2.

Alex Finney started off the scoring with a two RBI single and Senior Spencer Harbert finished it off with an RBI double.

Western Michigan grabbed a run back in the 5th, but that would be all the runs they could manage as the Bobcats cruised to a 9-3 victory on Senior Day.

“(Pitchers) coming in there and throwing strikes and putting up zeros,” said Bobcat Head Coach Craig Moore. “That’s something we struggled with this week in the first 3 games. So that was good to see and we can carry that over to the tournament.”

With the win, Ohio will play Ball State in Muncie on May 25 in the first round of the MAC Tournament.
