HANNIBAL, Ohio (WOUB) — Two 6-1 MOVL rivals went at it this Friday, but the records of Shenandoah and River did not mean too much in this one. River had the ball to start the first half and took no time to march down the field and score. A run heavy, high tempo drive kept the Zeps on their heels, which ultimately lead to Kabel Isaly’s first rushing touchdown of the night.

On Shenandoah’s first drive, Ty Long picked off QB Braxton Barnett, and took it all the way down to the Zeps’ 1 yard line. Kabel Isaly would then punch it in for his second rushing touchdown. An extra point attempt that hit off the o-line would keep the score at 13-0 in favor of River. The River defense came to play on Friday, picking off another one of Braxton Barnett’s passes to end the first quarter.

River would use the great field position from the interception to score again. This time it was a 26-yard pass to Brody Lollathin. A failed 2-point conversion would make it 19-0. Shenandoah would strike back quickly with a Hunter Yates rushing touchdown making it 19-6, River. It did not take long for River to respond, however, because Kabel Isaly was able to march is team down the field, and connect with Brody Lollathin again, this time from 11 yards out.

Shenandoah got a little offense going late in the second quarter, and Braxton Barnett took one in himself from 10 yards out, making the score 25-14. Kabel Isaly was able to squeeze in one more passing touchdown to Kaden Johnson before the end of the half, and with a successful 2-point conversion, made the score 33-14.

The River Pilots would continue to dominate this matchup in the second half, scoring twice more. Shenandoah scored once in the second half, but it wasn’t enough. River would win this one 47-22
