Americana artist and former Athens-local Megan Wren recently came through the southeastern Ohio region on a number of stops during her Fall Equinox Tour. Her debut EP, Sympathetic Vibrations, was recorded with Eddie Ashworth at The Oxide Shed in Coolville. She is dedicating the winter season to songwriting, with the intention of releasing new music in the coming year. 

In no particular order, here are the albums and tracks that Wren played on heavy rotation throughout this year.

Albums

Larkin Poe “Blood Harmony” – the 2022 release from the American roots rock band fronted by sisters Rebecca Lovell and Megan Lovell. Featuring the track “Bad Spell.”

Jade Bird “Different Kinds of Light” – the latest from the Americana and folk songwriter, which includes the track “Now Is The Time.”

Mega “Colour Your World” – the debut album from North London songstress Mega, with the single “Chariot.”

Violet Moons “Moments Fleeting” – the debut album from Nashville psychedelic indie duo Violet Moons features a familiar face to the southeast Ohio music scene: Aubree Riley.

Morgan Wad “Reckless” – Wade’s debut album has brought her immense recognition in the country music scene, notably with her single “Wilder Days.”
