POMEROY, Ohio (WOUB) — Meigs came into their final regular-season game looking to snap a four-game losing streak. They faced off against the Federal Hocking Lancers.

Anticipation was high in Pomeroy as senior Rylee Lisle was on the brink of 1,000 career points. Needing only 15 coming into the game she was trying to become the third player under head coach Heath Hudson.

Both teams struggled to start the game on offense as neither were able to make shots. Meigs used an intense full-court press to keep the Lancers on their toes and they forced countless turnovers.

Maggie Musser was prevalent on the defensive end causing chaos for Federal Hocking. Breaking up passes and playing with high energy, she made a significant impact for the Marauders. Going into half Meigs led 33-18.

The second half was the Rylee Lisle show on offense for Meigs. She was aggressive hunting her shot as she inched closer and closer to 1,000 points. After near misses 21 seconds into the fourth quarter Lisle hit the thousand-point mark.

Lisle’s accomplishment comes two years to the day after Mallory Hawley scored her 1,000th career point.

The Marauders picked up a big win ending a four-game losing streak and are looking to build up momentum with the playoffs on the horizon.
