ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — From Thursday to Sunday, the Athens community celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride. The Southeastern Ohio Rainbow Alliance and some local businesses and other local organizations they’ve partnered with, have a jam-packed schedule of events to commemorate Pride Month.

The festivities kick off Thursday at Athens Uncorked with Pride trivia night at 7 p.m. Patrons can expect fun pride-themed specialty drinks and prizes for the trivia winners.

Friday evening, Athens Uncorked will also be hosting Pride happy hour. There, a free slice of rainbow cake will be available with the purchase of a specialty drink. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and the festivities continue with two other events:  The Pigskin Bar and Grille is hosting the Pride Shuffle at 7 p.m., and at 9 p.m., The Union is hosting the Pride dance party. For the dance party, tickets for those under 21 are $7 and tickets for those 21 and up are $5.
