“Gridiron Glory” brings back Media Day

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — For the first time since 2019, WOUB’s Gridiron Glory welcomed players and coaches from 30 high school football programs for Media Day.
Seventy-five players representing eight conferences from across Southeast Ohio participated in interviews with reporters and posed for pictures. Thirty coaches were featured in roundtable discussions about everything from preparations for the upcoming season to their coaching heroes.
Participants tested their knowledge of area football in a game of “Gridiron Glory Jeopardy”, with Southeastern claiming the top prize. Coach T.J. Carper of Vinton County also emerged as a star of the event.
