After dropping the first set, the Raiders started to make things interesting. River Valley would go back and forth with Nelsonville-York, but the Buckeyes still held a 10-8 lead midway through the second set. However, the Raiders began to chip away slowly, leaving Nelsonville-York in the most vulnerable position of the night.

“When you are winning big it is hard to create energy,” said coach Wayne Dicken after the game.

Although it is difficult to do, the Buckeyes pulled it off. Nelsonville-York pushed through and won the set 25-19. Nine total kills from the Buckeyes made it hard for the Raiders to come back, leaving them down 2-0.

In the third set, the Buckeyes created more energy and came out read hot, creating a huge lead of 7-0. Senior Chloe Lehman would give Nelsonville-York their first two points of the set with two crushing kills. Nelsonville-York cruised to a 25-9 victory and a 3-0 sweep against River Valley. The Buckeyes are now 4-0 in conference play and 10-1 overall.

Nelsonville-York currently sits atop of the TVC-Ohio, but their next three games will be challenging. On Saturday, the Buckeyes play Alexander who are currently second in the conference. Next week Nelsonville-York will also see the Athens Bulldogs and the Vinton County Vikings.
