STEWART, Ohio (WOUB)- The Federal Hocking Lady Lancers recognized seniors Ava Tolson and Kyndal Snedden at senior night at home by facing off against the Waterford Wildcats. Even though the Lancers lost 25-44 it was still a night to be celebrated.

The first quarter started out very intense; the two teams came out ready to win. The defense on both ends of the court was strong which created a very low-scoring game. At the end of the first quarter the Wildcats were up 8-2.

Both teams were still very evenly matched up on the defensive end and continued to battle it out but Waterford’s offense was superior. They began to pull ahead even further by scoring another 13 points during this quarter. The half ended with the Wildcats on top 21-7.

In the third quarter Federal Hocking’s offense began to step it up. Takira Walker scored nine points but it was not quite enough to catch them up to Waterford. At the end of the third quarter the Wildcats were still up, 37-16.

During the final quarter of the game, Kendall Sury led Waterford in scoring by sinking a three and making one in the paint, totaling her to 15 points for the game. With her and the rest of the team continuing their astonishing offense, they ended the game with a win. The final quarter ended with a score of 44-25 Wildcats.

Federal Hocking will travel to the home of the Marietta Tigers (15-4) on Tuesday. Marietta will head home to play the Warren Pegasus (13-6) on Monday hoping to continue their win streak.
