The Alexander Spartans traveled to the nest Tuesday night to face off against the Eastern Eagles. Both teams are having struggling seasons, and were looking to build momentum headed into the tournament. The Eagles come out on top against the Spartans, 62-37.

As the first quarter started, the Eagles would bring the physicality. Eastern would start running a 2-2-1 press midway through the 1st quarter, and that definitely paid dividends. They would get easy fast break points off of steals for wide open lay-ups to take an 18-9 lead.

Headed into the 2nd quarter, it was much of the same. Eagles would continue to press and pressure Alexander heavily. It seemed like every Eagle was getting a bucket. Guys such as Ethan Edwards, Tyler Hill, and Derrick Barnes were all getting in on the action. Eastern had a commanding 34-19 lead headed into halftime.

Going into the 3rd, the Spartans showed a little bit of life after a rough first quarter. Alexander guard Mason Morris would hit a 3 that brought it to a 10 point game, but the combination of Edwards and Hill with a strong 2-2-1 press was too much for the Spartans, as they would end up losing to Eastern 62-37.

Tyler Hill led all scorers with 17 points, while Edwards was right behind him with 16, while adding 5 steals. Isaac Waller poured in a double-double for the Spartans, putting up 10 points and 10 boards. The Eagles get their 4th win of the season, and face the 9-12 Southern Tornadoes in their final game of the season. Alexander drops another game, moving to 1-21 on the season.
