Alvvays plays Columbus as a part of U.S. tour before departing for European festival dates

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOUB) – Canadian indie pop band Alvvays is known for their dreamy, jangly guitar-driven sound, catchy melodies, and poignant lyrics. Last year the group received their first ever Grammy nomination when Belinda Says was nominated for Best Alternative Music Performance.

Though Alvvays did not take home a Grammy during the 66th award event, they continue to grow in popularity and are in the midst of a brief U.S. tour this spring before they head off for a number of festival dates throughout Europe this summer.

Alvvays played the Newport Music Hall Saturday with support from New Orleans’ Spllit. Find WOUB’s photo coverage of the show below.
