The Bulldogs dominate the Aces in a 35-10 win
< < Back toCARROLL, OH (WOUB) – The crisp September breeze in the air can only mean one thing, MSL Buckeye conference play is back in full swing. The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs had the hand of the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces all night, coming away with the 35-10 win.
Amanda received the opening kickoff but would go three and out for their opening drive of the game. Bloom would do the complete opposite with their first possession, being led down the field by senior quarterback Ethan Thanthanavong as he would link up with Evan Cardenas with a 38-yard bomb.
The Bulldogs dominate the Aces in a 35-10 win This, in turn, would set up a one-yard rushing touchdown capped off by Beau Sherman.
The Aces would answer right back with a touchdown drive of their own, as junior Bodie Martin punched it in from the Bloom half-yard line, 7-7 ballgame. This Amanda drive came out to be a whopping 10 plays long.
Both teams would go back and forth for the remainder of the first quarter, but this time the Bulldogs took the advantage. Thanthanavong dropped back and allowed Rusty Hutchinson plenty of time to breeze by the DB defending him with a 63-yard touchdown play.
With about 5 minutes left in the second quarter is when the Aces would get back on the board. Amanda started with great field position around midfield and was able to get down into the red zone. Unfortunately for them, they could only muster three points with a field goal from kicker Hayden Dunn, 14-10 Bloom.
The first half would end with a doozy of a drive from the Bulldogs. Thanthanavong and the offense took over at their own 41. He would then find Hutchinson for an 11-yard pass to get the first down. An incomplete pass and penalty would force Bloom back five yards and bring up 2nd and 15.
That’s when Thanthanavong and Hutchinson would link up once again, this time on a 27-yard dart to the left side of the field, and all Hutchinson had to do was waltz his way into the endzone.
The Bulldogs would prevail and flush the Aces back home with a 35-10 win.
