An Hour of Code Event

The Hour of Code began as a one-hour coding challenge to give students a fun first introduction to computer science and has become a global learning event, celebration, and awareness event. WOUB Learning Lab, the Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery along with other partners are sponsoring an event for children of all ages to spend a hour coding. This year’s event will have coding opportunities and workshops to learn more.

Registration: Encouraged not required

New PBS KIDS Series

On Nov 14th a new PBS KIDS program began. CARL THE COLLECTOR is a new 2D animated series for children ages 4-8. The series breaks new ground as the first PBS KIDS show to feature central characters on the autism spectrum. Through its relatable stories, characters, and messages, and with a production team that includes neurodiverse writers, production staff, animators, advisors, and voice talent. CARL THE COLLECTOR showcases and celebrates our differences and commonalities, and that we all have something unique to offer.

The series airs at 9:00 am on WOUB Channel 20.1 & 44.1. It’s available anytime on the PBS KIDS video app. There are also games on the PBS KIDS games app and educational resources on PBS Learning Media.
