The Love is ON the Air radio pledge drive will be held on February 13 and 14

ATHENS, OH – Love will be ON the air during WOUB’s upcoming February Radio Pledge Drive. We’re asking you to help us celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing your love for WOUB with a donation of support.

“Since Valentine’s Day falls on the 45th day of the year, our goal is to have 45 people, who are not currently WOUB supporters, donate during this drive,” said WOUB Community Engagement and Membership Manager Cheri Russo. “Reaching our goal means WOUB will gain one new donor for each day of 2025 so far. Thanks to several generous donors who created a matching fund, there is also a special 3X match for donations made by new donors up to $6500. That means a donation from someone who has never supported WOUB before will be tripled!”

Member support is crucial for WOUB to be able to continue to provide the quality public media programming people in this region have come to rely on. Listeners who spend quality time with WOUB propel our programs and services forward by taking the next logical step: funding our mission through financial support.

Donations will be accepted starting Friday, February 7, and the drive will officially end on Sunday, February 16. WOUB radio hosts, staff members, and friends will be on the air for just two days during the drive asking for your support to limit program interruptions: February 13 and 14.

“We need to ask members to support our programming, but we want to limit pledge drive interruptions to that programming as much as possible,” said WOUB General Manager Mark Brewer. “We hope our listeners will show their love and celebrate Valentine’s Day by becoming a new member or continuing their support of their public radio station.”

Donors can make their pledge by calling or texting the word “GIVE” to 877-845-9600 or visiting woub.org and clicking the donate button.

“Donations from our members directly support the local and national news programming that help bring important information to our region, as well as the regional music and entertainment programming,” said Brewer. “WOUB has an important role in this community, and we hope our listeners will support that work during this pledge drive.”
