DRESDEN, Ohio (WOUB) — After five years, 45 wins, and only 11 losses, Tri-Valley Head Coach Cam West has stepped away from football. West accepted a new position as Tri-Valley’s head principal for the upcoming school year.

West, a Tri-Valley alum, played quarterback for the Scotties and is in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. During his five seasons at the helm, Tri-Valley reached the playoffs each season and won three MVL-Big conference championships.

In his final season as head coach, the Scotties finished 10-0 in the regular season and lost to Dover in the second-round of the playoffs.

Moving forward, The Tri-Valley Board of Education will recommend veteran coach and current educator in Dresden, Joshua Wright. Wright brings vast experience with a coaching resume spanning over 28 years.

His only other head coaching experience comes from two years with Berne Union in 2009 and 2010. The Rockets finished 6-14 during his time with the team. Wright spent over a decade as an assistant coach with Philo before taking a job with Tri-Valley prior to the 2024 season.

Wright will inherit a program going through a year of change after graduating high-level talent like quarterback Max Lyall, running back Jayden Wallace, and lineman Gavin Spiker.
