AMANDA, Ohio (WOUB) –  It was Homecoming night for the Amanda-Clear Creek Aces as they battled the Hamilton Township Rangers at home. It ended in disappointment for the Aces as they fell to the Rangers, 49-21.

The first quarter saw the Rangers strike first as a fourth-down conversion led to a touchdown by RB Kal-El Beverly-Akin. The Aces drove down the field, looking like they were about to score, until LB Jesse Ferrell intercepted Aces’ QB Carter Madison. A fumble on the ensuing drive by Beverly-Akin led to Aces’ RB Tommy Stai running into the end zone for a touchdown. The score at the end of the first quarter was 7-7.

The second quarter allowed the Rangers to run away with the game, as a 30-yard touchdown by Akin put the Rangers up 14-7. The Rangers’ defense forced a four-and-out, which led to a blocked punt recovered by the Rangers. With confidence, QB Lucus King threw a dime to WR Jovon McBride for a touchdown, which put the Rangers up 21-7.

After a 49-yard touchdown by Stai, King threw right to McBride as he dove straight into the end zone for a touchdown, putting the Rangers up 28-14. The Rangers’ defense came up clutch as they stripped the ball up in the air for a fumble recovery by DB Dez Branch. After a 30-yard passing yard gain from WR Daviace Packnett, King threw a looping ball into the end zone for Akin with eight seconds left in the half. The score at halftime was Aces 34-14 Rangers.

In the second half, Hamilton officially sealed the deal with two more touchdowns from King. The final score was 49-21 Rangers. Next week, the Rangers look to continue their ways as they take on the Circleville Tigers. Meanwhile, the Aces travel to the Logan Elm Braves.
