DRESDEN, Ohio (WOUB) — The Tri-Valley Scotties use an electric second half to defeat Philo 37-15.
Two of the top MVL Big leaders battled it out on a cold, football weather Friday night.
From the jump, it looked like Philo was going to keep it close with the Scotties. The Electrics
marched down the Tri-Valley defense and capped off a short first drive with a 19-yard passing
touchdown to Jacob Savage. Philo would only take a 6-0 lead after the PAT conversion was
blocked.

The Scotties did answer with a long 61-yard touchdown pass of their own to Lucca Gargasz.
From then on, the Scotties relied heavily on their stout defense for the first half. The very next
drive Tri-Valley recovered a fumble on the Electrics side of the field. Coach West and his
offense were able to capitalize on the ideal field position and take a 15-6 lead with the additional
two-point conversion.

With a heavy defensive first half, Philo’s Slade Sprankle would be the only one to put points
on the board for either side. The Electrics would find themselves in only a three-point hole at the
end of the first. Though the Scotties seemed to flip a switch when they headed out to the field for
the second half.

Philo would tie the score before the Scotties would be able to grow their lead once more. That
would be the only time the Electrics would put points on the board for the remainder of the night.
The Scotties would get into the end zone three more times as Casen Baker caught a 19-yard
touchdown pass from Stone Spiker. Leevi Wade also found the end zone twice for 60 yards total
in touchdown rushes. The defense got in on the scoring with a safety to begin the scoring in the
second half.

Tri-Valley gets their sixth win in dominating fashion and will look to carry their momentum as
they head to play Sheridan next Friday. Sheridan sits with the lead in the MVL Big at 4-0 in the
conference. The Scotties will look to take down the Generals in a must-win game for the
conference championship.

Philo will look to bounce back next week against John Glenn in New Concord and to avoid the
three-game skid. John Glenn is riding a huge win over River View 47-7.
