WATERFORD, Ohio (WOUB) – On senior night for the Waterford Wildcats, they took on the Trimble Tomcats. The Wildcats delivered a blowout game for their seniors as they won, 47-0.
In the first quarter, Waterford seized control of the game with a rushing touchdown from RB Hayden Jones. After Waterford forces Trimble’s offense to a four-and-out, Waterford’s offense takes advantage with QB Avery Pottmeyer sends a laser to WR Gavin Hiener. Once again, Waterford’s defense comes up big as Jones read Trimble QB Paul Sharp’s eyes for an interception. Waterford’s RB Trevin Zimmer takes advantage of the interception and runs past the Trimble defenders to put up another score. The end of the first quarter was 21-0, Wildcats.
The second quarter saw the Wildcats take over and storm the Tomcats. Pottmeyer spread the touchdown love to WR Weston Fairchild. Although the Tomcats saw a glimpse of hope from their offense, CB Gavin Hiener shut it down with an interception. With two rushing touchdowns from Jones and another rushing touchdown from Zimmer, they put the Wildcats miles ahead, 47-0.
In the second half, Trimble’s defense stepped up and stopped the Wildcats from scoring at all with interceptions from both sides in the red zone. However, Waterford’s defense tonight played lights out all night against the Tomcats by silencing its offense to 0 points.
Next week the Waterford Wildcats will travel to take on the Belpre Golden Eagles. Meanwhile the Trimble Tomcats will take on the Federal Hocking Lancers.
