CARROLL, Ohio (WOUB) — The Circleville Tigers came into Carl Fell stadium to take on the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs Friday night. The Bulldogs were looking to win the MSL-Buckeye with a win and Circleville was looking to clinch their first ever Home-Playoff game with a win.  Bloom-Carroll was run over all night  allowing 341 total rushing yards as they lost 26-7 to the Tigers.

Circleville won the coin toss and chose to defer. Bloom-Carroll started things off with a three-and-out and they would punt it away to the Tigers. Circleville would take advantage and a big run from senior RB Kole Nungester set Circleville up in the redzone. From there he punched it in from 10 yards out. Extra-point was good and it was 7-0 Circleville with 10 minutes to go in the first.

Bloom-Carroll would be given great starting field position after the first of three failed onside kicks from the Tigers. They would not be able to make anything out of it though as they would be forced to punt after three plays once again.

The punt would pin Circleville deep inside their own 10. They would get one first down but then be forced to punt and this would give Bloom-Carroll good starting field position. They would hold for the rest of the quarter and would start the second punching it in from 10 yards out. Kyson Cline would run it in for the Bulldogs only score of the night. 7-7 the score with 11:46 left to go in the second.

On the ensuing kickoff the Circleville returner slipped and would start the Tigers at the eight yard-line. A false start would follow and the Tigers would have to go 97 yards if they wanted to score. They would do just that. Solid run after solid run would march Circleville down the field and end it with a 55 yard touchdown pass to the freshman receiver Uriah Woodworth. The 2-point-conversion was no good and the score with 8 minutes to go in the first half was 13-7.

From there neither team found any success on offense for the rest of the half the score going into halftime was still 13-7.

Coming out of the break the Tigers meant business. They wouldn’t allow another score for the entire second half.  2 QB sneaks from Hudson Phalin would give Circleville an eventual 26-7 lead. They would clinch their first home playoff game in school history and Bloom-Carroll would end up having to share the MSL-Buckeye title with Hamilton Township.
