GNADDENHUTTEN, Ohio (WOUB) – In an intense battle between the Indian Valley Braves and the Circleville Tigers, Indian Valley came out on top over the Tigers, 48-14.
The first quarter was all Indian Valley as RB Grady Kinsey ran past the Tigers’ defense from the Braves’ own 29-yard line for his first touchdown on the night. Circleville would try to gain some momentum back; however, after two fumbles and a big hit, the Braves took back the ball. The Braves took advantage of their field position, and once again Kinsey ran through the defenders for his second touchdown. The score at the end of the 1st quarter was 14-0, Indian Valley.
The second quarter saw the Braves continue their dominance as their defense stopped the Tigers with a fumble while in the red zone. Thanks to their defense, the offense drove down the field as QB Ryker Williams threw a dot in the corner of the end zone to WR Colt James for the touchdown.
With another Circleville fumble, Kinsey takes advantage as he trucks into the end zone for his third touchdown on the night. However, Circleville was determined to score at the end of the half. A touchdown from QB Hudson Phalin to WR Lamont Halloway gave the Tigers their first points on the night. An interception from the Circleville defense allowed its offense to score another touchdown in two minutes. Ultimately, they came up short as the Braves’ defense clutched up with a sack to end the half. The score at the end of first half was 28-7, Braves.
The second half was all Indian Valley as they continued their scoring with Kinsey catching a perfect pass from Williams to run into the end zone for his fourth touchdown for the night. Williams decided to run it back, but this time with James as he was wide open for another score. However, an interception from Tigers’ DB Drake Klinger allowed RB Kole Nungester to get pushed into the end zone for the touchdown. The Braves would response almost immediately as RB Bodie Raymond runs down the field for the score to seal the game.
The Indian Valley Braves move on to the next round of playoffs where they will face Jonanthan Alder in an intense match-up.
