Poet Wendy McVicker and essayist Stacie Somerset present free writing workshop Thursday at the Athens Public Library

ATHENS, Ohio – The Athens Public Library will host “Facing Down Our Ghosts,” a thematic creative writing workshop, Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The program will be led by poet Wendy McVicker and essayist Stacie Somerset.
Designed for writers of both poetry and prose, the workshop will include examples from each form along with prompts intended to help participants begin new work or continue developing existing pieces.
The workshop is generative in format, with participants writing together during the event.
The program is free and open to the public.
