A person of interest has been arrested in connection with an apartment fire in The Plains

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a person of interest in connection with a death inside an apartment building that caught fire in The Plains Tuesday morning.
Andrew Joseph Martin was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Franklin County for failure to register as a sex offender.
Martin was seen on video footage leaving the scene of the fire at 15 Cross St., which is owned by the Athens Metropolitan Housing Authority.
The coroner’s office has not yet released the name of the person who died at the apartment or the cause of death.
The sheriff’s office said its investigation is ongoing. It is not clear yet whether the sheriff is looking at a possible connection between Martin and the fire in The Plains or the death or both.
