The as of now unidentified remains were found in a wooded area along Raccoon Rd., in what authorities described as close to the last known location of Zachary Cline.

Deputies and members of Ethos Search and Rescue from the Central Ohio region made the discovery while searching for Cline.

He has been missing since June 17 when he was last seen on Shoestring Ridge Rd. in Gallipolis.

“There is concern for Zach’s welfare due to known issues with drug dependency,” the Gallia County Sheriff’s Department posted then on Facebook. “We are asking anyone who may have seen him or has information regarding his whereabouts to contact our office.”

The remains were sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, to determine the identity of and the cause of death.

While the body has not been identified, the sheriff’s office asked on a Facebook post for “everyone to continue to keep Mr. Cline’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
