Missing Meigs County Teen Found Safe

Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood stated on Sunday afternoon that Ali Wooten, 14, of Racine, had been located and was safe.
Wooten was reported missing on Monday when she was last seen getting into a small SUV at Southern High School.
A news release from the sheriff’s office stated that Wooten was located in Morgantown, West Virginia, after the sheriff’s office received a tip on her possible location. The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Monongalia County (West Virginia) Sheriff’s Office for assistance with checking the tip.
The Morgantown Police Department then located, and picked up, Wooten at an apartment complex in Morgantown.
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office and Morgantown Police Department are currently working to gather more information.
