Federal Grants To Help Ohioans With Housing Problems
< < Back toFederal housing grants totaling $134,000 are designed to help Ohioans make good decisions about housing and stave off foreclosures.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Tuesday announced the grants to support 10 housing counseling organizations in Ohio. HUD says the money is meant to help low- and moderate-income people find housing, make more informed housing choices, or keep their current homes.
The agency says it also is establishing a new Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee to help provide consumers with the knowledge they need to find and keep decent housing.
That includes helping them realistically evaluate their readiness for a home purchase, understand their financing and down-payment options, and navigate the process.
