Zero Waste Efforts Up Following Nelsonville Music Festival
< < Back to ?p=11706Rural Action and Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative successfully recycled 3 tons of material at the Nelsonville Music Festival.
That's up 1,948 pounds from last year's event.
According to an AOZWI press release, the organization used a different system of recycling at this year's festival.
The team set up over two dozen resource recovery stations, which included three individual bins labeled for compost, waste and landfills.
This year a conveyor belt, designed by Ohio University engineering students was implemented to help with sorting through the material.
AOZWI will continue to research other recycling opportunities for future events.
