< < Back to ohio-safety-nathan-carpenter-earns-collegesportsmadness-com-honorA good showing in Ohio’s 45-28 win over Idaho earned redshirt senior safety Nathan Carpenter the Mid-Amercian Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors from CollegeSportsMadness.com.
The veteran defensive back recovered a fumble that he returned for six yards, intercepted a pass in the end zone as time ran out and included five tackles.
Carpenter just started his sixth-year as a Bobcat. He was redshirted in 2010, and the NCAA granted him a medical redshirt after he sat out most of the 2014 season with a groin injury.
Next on the schedule for Ohio is a Saturday matchup with its rival from across the Ohio River, The Marshall Thundering Herd. In four games against Marshall, Carpenter has recorded an interception, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Peden Stadium.
