< < Back to ohio-rounds-out-road-trip-4-1-winOhio Field Hockey ended its tour of Missouri with a brief stop in St. Louis where the Bobcats beat the Billikens 4-1.
Starting off the Ohio offense was Katherine Fenzel as she scored her second goal of the season in the 20th minute off an assist by Caelyn Hartley.
To give the Green & White some breathing room, Luli Gomez Teruel scored in the 26th minute, allowing Ohio to go into halftime with a lead of 2-0.
Teruel, an Argentina native, had an outstanding showing with three goals in Sunday’s game and helping to seal the win for the ‘Cats. With support from Hartley, Lauryl Desch, and Riley Higgins – all credited with assists – Teruel was able to have her best performance this season to date.
Coming out strong in the second half, Teruel scored in the 36th minute thanks to the help of Desch and allowed the Bobcats to get a significant lead over the Billikens at 3-0.
In the 44th minute, the Billikens cut Ohio’s lead to two but Teruel sealed in the win for the ‘Cats with her final goal of the game in the 48th minute.
Brittany Walker, Ohio’s goalkeeper, had six saves and only allowed one ball to get across the crease the duration of the game.
Teruel is now dominating the team goal total with 10, and Jessica Jue in second with five.
Ohio is scheduled to play its next game in Athens at Pruitt Field. It will be the Bobcats’ first game at its home field all season, as turf replacement at Pruitt took longer than expected, keeping Ohio away from home. The ‘Cats will take on the Central Michigan Chippewas at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19.
