Owner Of Ali Baba’s Buggy Files Suit Against OU
< < Back to owner-ali-babas-buggy-files-suit-against-ouThe owner of the Ali Baba's vending buggy has filed a claim against Ohio University for damage caused to his buggy.
Nisar Shaikh of Millfield filed a $1,325 claim in the Ohio Court of Claims.
According to Shaikh, a Bobcat bus was making a right turn off of South Court Street in Athens onto East Union Street and struck the corner of his food vending buggy, causing damage. An Athens police report attached to the complaint says the bus, driven by Barrett Lawlis, also struck a parked bicycle.
Shaikh said in his complaint that the inner and outer wall of the vending buggy need repaired, a corner support needs replaced and a rivet needs replaced and painted to match. He attached two estimates for repairs, the lowest being $1,300. He is seeking that amount, plus the $25 fee he paid to file the complaint.
The university has not filed a response.
