Dozens Arrested During First Fest Weekend

City officials say two dozen people were arrested on alcohol-related charges during the first weekend of the spring fest season.
The Athens Police Department arrested one person on an alcohol-related charge. Ohio University Police arrested seven people and the Ohio Investigative Unit arrested 16 people, according to a news release.
Five people were transported to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, one of those people was then flown to Columbus because of possible head/neck injuries.
According to Ron Lucas, deputy service-safety director, law enforcement shut down most house parties on Mill Street, which started early Saturday morning by 5:30 p.m.
