After a dramatic save at the auction block in 2014, and two years of land planning, healing, and restoration the Arc Of Appalachia invites you to join us for Junction’s Grand Opening on July 23 at 1 pm.

The new Archaeological Park and Nature Preserve, Junction Earthworks, is open to the public 365 days of the year from 9 am to sunset at no charge. The park features 2000 year old Native American earthworks, three nature trails providing over three miles of hiking, and a 70 acre native prairie providing spectacular summer wildflowers and rare grassland birds.

Junction’s Grand Opening will be composed of a short ceremony followed a time to chat with archaeologists and historians, and participate in educational children’s activities held at each of the nine earthworks.

1:00 -1:30 Grand Opening Ceremony
1:30 – 2:30 Junior Archaeologist – Junction Expedition! Young explorers who participate in all nine stations, one in each of Junction’s nine earthworks, will receive a special award
1:30 – 2:30 On-site Archaeologists & Historians will be interpreting Junction’s earthworks to the visiting public.
