Volleyball: Ryan Theis Press Conference
< < Back toOhio volleyball was swept – completely – in two matches this past weekend in its last trip to the West Division of the Mid-American Conference.
Ohio was beaten in straight sets by both Western Michigan (Friday) and Northern Illinois (Saturday). The losses essentially drop Ohio out of the race for the top-overall seed in the MAC Tournament, which begins November 18 in Geneva, Ohio.
Ohio still leads the pack in the MAC East at 7-3 with six matches remaining (four at home), but is two full games behind Ball State (9-1) for the conference's best record. Ball State beat Ohio 3-1 on October 14. The 'Cats have lost three of their last four matches.
Head coach Ryan Theis spoke to the media on Monday about the weekend's losses and how to keep his team fresh for the stretch run.
