Lady Wildcats Take Top Spot in AP Polls
< < Back to lady-wildcats-take-top-spot-in-ap-pollsAs the season hits the halfway mark, the Waterford Lady Wildcats were voted as one of two teams to be ranked #1 team in Division IV basketball in the poll released by the Associated Press.
Waterford, who currently sits on top of the TVC-Hocking with a record of 9-1, garnered a total of 117 points in the voting, including six first-place votes as decided by a panel of sports writers and broadcasters across Ohio. In Midwestern Ohio, The Minster girls’ basketball team, earned 117 points as well in the voting, resulting in both teams sharing the top spot. Minster currently holds an undefeated record of 10-0.
The Lady Wildcats, who are still fresh off their 49-12 blowout over Wahama on Monday, will host West Branch this Sunday, as part of the annual Classic in the Country Challenge.
The Waterford boys also took a spot in the AP Poll. The Wildcats are placed ninth, just three points ahead of Fort Recovery.
