Saturday, August 19 marks the annual Athens Community Music Festival (ACMF), which this year serves as a fundraiser for Stuart’s Opera House After School Music Program, ARTS/West, Athens Rock Camp for Girls, The Gathering Place, and the Bryan Winland Memorial Arts & Music Scholarship.

“It is a great opportunity for our community celebrate the local music scene and hopefully see some artists they may never have before,” said Scott Winland, a promoter at The Union and the primary agent at Blackout Booking, of the event. “It is super important that the funds raised benefit music, art education, and therapy. I’ve always thought of ACMF as a great end-of-summer event to bring folks together before uptown Athens goes nuts in the fall.”
