Ohio High School Football AP Poll: Sept. 18

The Jackson Ironmen and the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes made appearances in the first release of the Associated Press Ohio High School football poll, but were in the outside looking in to the top 10 of the divisions.
In the poll’s second release, both teams took the No. 10 spot in their divisions.
After holding the No. 13 spot last week, Jackson moved up three spots in Division III.
The Ironmen improved to 4-0 after defeating Division II Western Brown 49-20 on Friday. Jackson will host Wheelersburg on Friday. Wheelersburg (4-0) is No. 4 in Division V.
The Division III rankings are tight near the bottom. Jackson has 32 points which is only one point behind No. 9 Marion-Franklin and eight points behind No. 8 St. Francis DeSales. Trotwood-Madison has a tight hold on the top spot in the division with 245 total points, helped by 16 first place votes.
Nelsonville-York snagged the No. 10 spot in Division VI after defeating River Valley 49-7 on Friday. The Buckeyes previously were at No. 12 in the division.
The Buckeyes will also have a meeting with an undefeated team on Friday. Waverly (4-0) is tied for No. 11 in DIvision IV.
Nelsonville-York does sit further behind teams ahead of them than Jackson does. The Buckeyes have 38 points and No. 9 Shenandoah has 57 points and No. 8 Coldwater is sitting with 63 points. A win over Waverly could give the Buckeyes points to move up several spots.
Southern and John Glenn made appearances in last week’s poll, but both teams lost and dropped out.
