Officials Urge Caution For Fall Debris Burning
< < Back to officials-urge-caution-fall-debris-burningState officials are reminding Ohioans to take precautions when burning debris this fall.
Ohio law prohibits outdoor debris burning between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. during October and November. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says the abundance of dry fuel from dried grasses and leaves combined with winds can make a for hazardous fire conditions.
ODNR officials recommend using a 55-gallon drum with a weighted screen lid for burning debris outside. Officials say homeowners living within incorporated limits should check their local ordinances for debris burning.
Those who violate Ohio's burning regulations are subject to fines and citations.
